The Garnet Valley Jags have shown up this 2024 football season, starting the school year with a 3-0 record. Their success so far this season is keeping fans excited and wanting more. The Jaguars have also been moved from Class 6A to Class 5A. This strong start gives the Jags hope they will succeed in this new class as much as they did in Class 6A.

For the first game of their season, the Jags played Coatesville at the MOE. Fans and students, excited for the start of Garnet Valley Football, packed the student section and bleachers. As the fans cheered loudly, the Jags did not disappoint.

Senior quarterback Luke O’Donoghue ran in two touchdowns and threw another to Nolan Caroll to rack up points for the Jags. Garnet Valley’s defense was on their A-game, as the final score was 34-19, the first of many successes this season for Garnet Valley Football.

Next, Garnet Valley played at Haverford for their first central league game of the season.
Luke O’Donoghue led the offense yet again, passing 4 touchdowns total. Senior Nolan Carroll again caught a touchdown to score for the Jags. Junior Paxton Hunt followed with another, then Caden Koehler, senior, rang up two more.

Luke Vaughn then had an important 4th down stop tackle which led to another Jag touchdown on the next play. The final score was 35-20, another win for the Jags!

Back at the MOE just last Thursday, the Jaguars played another central league game against Penncrest. This uncomfortable game kept fans and players on their feet with a score of 14-14 at halftime. To break the tie, Nolan Carroll came out in the 3rd quarter with pick 6, which is an interception combined with a run for a touchdown.

From there, Garnet Valley didn’t give up and kept pushing. Caden Kohler came in clutch again with two touchdown catches in the second half.

Overall, it's clear the Garnet Valley Jaguars are on fire this 2024 football season and don’t plan on backing down anytime soon. Go cheer on the GV Jags at Lower Merion this Saturday, September 14th at 11:00 am, as they continue to fight for success this exhilarating season!
