The South Asian Student Association, alongside their sponsors Eileen Ming and Stephanie DerOhannessian, is excited to host to Garnet Valley High School's 3rd Annual Garba Night! Join us to socialize, enjoy traditional music, take part in communal dancing, and of course, grab some tasty food.

What is Garba?

Garba is a traditional dance celebration from Gujarat, India, often held during the Hindu festival of Navratri. Spanning nine nights and ten days, Navratri brings communities together to honor the Goddess Durga and her nine forms. The festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and has grown in popularity worldwide.

All Are Welcome!

The SASA club invites everyone, regardless of cultural background, to experience the joy of Garba. Traditional clothing is encouraged, and attendees are welcome to bring Dandiya (decorated bamboo sticks) for the evening dance. If you are unable to purchase or borrow these items, still dress up and the SASA officers will happily provide extra Dandiya and teach you the simple dance steps.
