Garnet Valley High School's Robotics team kicked off their competitive season at the Longhorn Roundup Scrimmage just yesterday, November 8th. Their two sister robots, Blazin' Circuits (Team 5440) and JagWired (Team 3795), joined the 20 other teams from across the PA region. The event was a great opportunity for our GV team to test robot designs, refine strategies, and prepare for upcoming qualifiers.
Team 5440 Blazin' Circuits placed 12th overall, while Team 3795 JagWired placed 17th. These are fantastic results with a new set of officers and ten new members that the team helped get accustomed. This scrimmaged helped members identify areas of improvement which they will be working on up towards the December 6th Lancaster Area Qualifier.
Alongside competition prep, the Robotics Club held a Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser the day before the scrimmage to support the season. Thanks to the incredible generosity of students, teachers, and staff, the team raised just over $100. All funds will help cover competition fees, transportation costs, and materials for building and improving the robots. The Robotics Club hopes to hold another donut fundraiser in the coming months with such great success after the first one of the year! Every donut you purchase helps the team so keep your eyes peeled for the next fundraier.
