On Saturday, August 23, I saw the K-Pop Demon Hunters release in theaters!

The movie, originally released on Netflix on June 20, was released in theaters as a sing-along for one weekend only.

Unlike the original release, this version invited the audience to sing along with the soundtrack. The lyrics appeared on-screen, which made the experience super fun and easy to participate in.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s a summary of the movie: long ago, demons were sealed away by singers who created a magical barrier called the Honmoon. In the present, K-pop group Huntr/x is the next trio chosen to protect humanity, but their mission is threatened when a rival demon boy band rises to weaken the Honmoon and take over the world.

The best moment in my opinion was the very first song in the movie, How It’s Done. Everyone in the theater was singing, and it really made the movie come to life.

Overall, the K-Pop Demon Hunters Sing-Along Event was a great way to re-experience this movie that I have enjoyed at home on Netflix. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes K-pop, fantasy adventures, or musicals. I’d give this movie a rating of 9/10.
