By: Ryan Croke The defending Super Bowl champions are starting off their attempt at a repeat with a game against the Dallas Cowboys, in what should be a close game, if Dak Prescott is in fact fully healthy and has no issues with his shoulder, which has been bugging him during training camp. Prescott, returning from a season-ending ankle injury last year, is looking to pick up where he left off in 2020 and have an MVP quality season. The real question for the Cowboys is their defense. The unit was abysmal last year, but they were able to add a lot of talent to the roster, the main name being 12th overall pick Micah Parsons, a great linebacker out of Penn State who has had an outstanding preseason. I personally really like the Cowboys' defense, and believe most of their struggles last year were due to poor coaching, as their lame excuse for a defensive coordinator is being replaced by former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn is a defensive specialist, heading the famous Legion of Boom in Seattle a few years back. I like the Cowboys a lot this year, and they have a legit shot at making a Super Bowl run if all goes well, but it is Dallas, and they have a knack for underperforming on big stages. Unfortunately for them, the Buccaneers only added to their Super Bowl-winning roster, with all the players from last year's run returning for another year. This is the most complete team in football, with the only hole in the team being its lack of a star running back, but with Tom Brady under center, who has made a career off of getting less talented players involved in the offense, that shouldn't be much of a problem at all. Their receiver core is extremely deep, with star receivers Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski, and OJ Howard at tight end, who can both contribute good numbers in the receiving game. Their defense is great, with a killer front seven, and their secondary is young and capable of hanging with the best wideouts in the league. I like this team's chances to repeat as champions, but it hasn't been done in over 15 years, so the odds are against them. I think this will be a better game than people think, especially if the Cowboys' defense can hold up, but the Bucs are clearly the better team here, and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up running away with this one. Prediction: Buccaneers win in a close game
