Garnet Valley Performing Arts is one of the most vibrant and accomplished theatre programs in the region, recognized through both the Cappies Awards and the Philadelphia Independence Awards. Each year, over 120 Garnet Valley High School students, ranging from athletes and musicians to artists and first-time performers, join together to create unforgettable productions. With more than 8,000 to 10,000 community members attending our shows annually, Garnet Valley Performing Arts remains a foundation of creativity and school spirit.
Our alumni have gone on to earn scholarships and degrees from some of the nation’s most prestigious universities, including Harvard, Yale, Duke, Brown, Penn State, NYU, USC, and more. Many have pursued successful careers as doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, therapists, and even stage professionals. The skills students build on and off the stage, teamwork, confidence, and dedication, last far beyond opening night.
This year, we’re thrilled to present Les Misérables: School Edition, the timeless story of love, revolution, and redemption in 19th-century France. With songs like “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Do You Hear the People Sing,” and “One Day More,” this show promises to be a spectacular experience for both the cast and the audience.
Auditions and crew interviews will take place after school on
- Monday, December 2 & Tuesday, December 3.
You can find everything you need, audition songs, role details, crew positions, and registration info, in the Les Misérables Audition Guide. Once you’ve registered, make sure to reserve your audition slot through SignUpGenius.
You don’t need to be a theatre regular to join; if you’ve ever sung in the car, painted a set, or helped backstage, there’s a place for you. Students involved in band, color guard, or sports (except basketball and wrestling) can still participate, as the show wraps up before spring sports begin.
We’re currently seeking 5–10 more high school men for the cast, and always welcome talented high school women. If you’d rather work behind the scenes, there are plenty of opportunities in set design, painting, lighting, sound, costumes, hair and makeup, marketing, or sponsorship.
Beyond the stage, GVPAA also gives back to the community, hosting senior citizen luncheons and performances each year in collaboration with the Garnet Valley Interact Club.
Performances of Les Misérables: School Edition will run
- March 4–7, 2025 (with snow dates March 11–14).
So if you can sing, dance, act, paint, or build, come join us! Even if you’ve never auditioned before, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
See you at auditions!
